All police organizations, regardless of which party controls their state government, have a tendency to abuse their power and interpret their missions in ways that skew toward the dumb and authoritarian.

I am a man and I don't choose to play field hockey on the girls team because field hockey is a girls' sport. Just like gay people shouldn't try and "choose" to get "married" because marriage is something that 2 people of the same sex just can't do. If they want to create their own word for when 2 people of the same sex shack-up for life then nobody would care and this whole issue would be over.

"Try putting a pro-marraige bumper sticker on your car and then see what happens to it."Pro-marriage? Is that what they call being against gay marriage? So by extension those for gay marriage, are against marriage? That's almost as classy as "pro-life". Way to demonize the opposition, bigots.

The donors to BOTH sides of Prop 8 have their names and addresses on lists. It's called PUBLIC INFORMATION, and you can find it on the California Secretary of State's website as well as in the LA Times database. Why? Because, like in all political campaigns, when you donate (either via mail or online) you are required to check a box that explicitly, unequivocally, and in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS makes it abundantly clear the law requires you to disclose your name, occupation, and address with your contribution.IT IS THE LAW. Now the Yes on 8 campaign billed Prop 8 as a measure that would overturn the recklessness of "activist" judges by upholding the "will of the people" (gag). Well, the Yes on 8 donors who tenuously allege harassment or intimidation because of their donations, and are unhappy about what state law requires of them, should work against their own faulty logic and attempt to overturn the "will of the people" who put the public disclosure law into effect in the '70s.Bottom line: when you donate to a political campaign, this is all public information for anyone who's interested to see. You are required to check a box affirming you understand this. Frankly, I'd like to see a Yes on 8 person try to harass or intimidate me for my donation to the NO on 8 campaign. I'm proud of that donation, and I say: "bring it on!"
