FTA - “Had I recorded an officer saving someone’s life, I almost guarantee you that they wouldn’t have come up to me and say, ‘Hey, you just recorded me saving that person’s life. You’re under arrest.’ ’’This sums up the entire problem - the police only want to stop the recordings when they may be doing something wrong. The state should want to enable recordings ESPECIALLY when the police(as representatives of the state) may be doing something wrong. The solution is easy - have all police sign a contract agreeing to any & all video & audio recordings whilst they are performing their duties in public - no agreement by you to your public actions as a police officer being recorded, no job as a police officer 'protecting & serving' the public!

http://www.berkeleycopwatch.org/Everyone should know their rights when it comes to dealing with the police. Watching the police, monitoring them with audio and video recording devices in public spaces, is 100% legal.
