Personally, I think it shouldn't be all that much about graphics. I mean they do increase the appeal of a game but for me, gameplay is why I play games. If I wanted nice graphics to oogle over, I'd watch one of the PiXar animated movies. A very good example is Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - the graphics are nothing special but it plays just like the real thing.
Hey, I know that smell {sniffs the air}, I think it's called, "Eau de Buls**tte". Yeah, I think it is since Tokyo is getting PS3s tomorrow according to this (<a class="user" href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/14/playstation-3-in-tokyo-tomorrow-sony-confirms/)">http://www.joystiq.com/2006/03/14/playstation-3-in-tokyo-tomorrow-sony-confirms/)</a> article. It looks like Sony fudged up the whole production plan and yet they're still going to charge us a thousand bucks for a crappy PC marketted as a gaming console. I have a $300 PC that has better graphics and framerates! So when all these consoles end up on eBay, or just the boxes like the XBox 360 fiasco, are we going to get ripped off? What's to stop everyone in Tokyo from selling these on eBay or through other online vendors and hiking-up the price? There's that smell again...
It just doesn't look good.PS1 and PS2 - laser problems, PS3 - possible problems playing older games, Sony Rootkit (destroying trust in many customers), Delays in PS3 release date, PS2 taken off shelves for control patent infringments. And not forgetting a price to tag to end all price tags. The fact that they are releasing around the same time as the revolution is not a good move. And honestly a greyed aging solid snake?!
