ePSXe is great, but pSX is my current fave. Its pretty much exactly like Connectix's Virtual Game Station, but its actually being updated, (unlike any other PS1 emu) and supports dual analog emulation and other such things VGS never got to do, and all without the complexity of ePSXe. Good for beginners.Whatever ePSXe doesnt run, this may. And try Pete's software plugin for ePSXe for similar ease of use.
This is a nex gen of emulator that will hopefully spring into full life with a large dev base soon, the home pc has now caught up to that amount of power. By that i mean, if you look at the other emulators on the market you need roughly 10x the clock speed (very rough i know) of the original console to emulate it at full speed. e.g. the game boy was 8mhz and you need about a p90 to get it going at a good speed, the original playstation was 32mhz, and the spec's to get bleep up and running were 300mhz, the n64 was 66mhz, and you need about a p3 700mhz to get that going. So applying the same theory ps2 is 333mhz so we need about a 3.4ghz proccessor to have any chance of playable gameplay (not to note the decent 3d card). So our home PC's are just about ready for the ps2 to be emulated and the work should pick up much more pace now that this is available to most of the people who will be running the software. My full support to these guys, i just hope thay can crack it sooner rather than later
I would... if it didn't mean I also need to buy at least a video capture card to see the screen (AFAIK, none even have VGA-out). Add a bunch more hardware dependencies if I want any hope of having it slaved to a computer. And forget about playing normal multiplayer games online...
if any1 has a link where i can download FFX for PCSX2 please email me atsum_random_guy32@hotmail.comas i love FFX and have looked on all the rom/iso hosting sites i could find...thanks!
