Well, not being an engineer, I looked at the design when I bought it, and thought that it didn't look that sturdy. I went ahead and placed my plasma on it, simply because of the manufacturers 250lb rating. I felt that there was enough difference between that and my 114lb plasma to give me a margin of safety, but I was wrong. If there was a defect in the glass, I can understand, but the worst part about all this is that I have left my phone number twice on Avdeco's voice mail, and no one has called me back. I even left a message saying that I was going to post on the forums if I didn't hear from them, and then waited a week to do so.
Well..... I finally heard from the online distributor Threshold Concepts, and indirectly through them Avdeco. Here is the response I got."Since AVDECO is temporarily closed due to organization restructuring (they claim they will be back with a new distributor towards end of this year), I forwarded your e-mail to their previous Marketing Manager, Paul.Following is his reply after reading your letter:Hi James,I offered to send him a replacement glass from a unit that I had set aside which is in Texas...let him know that I will contact you next time I go to Texas and send it to him. It should be in about a month or two.Since Avdeco is no longer in business (I am currently working with a different company) that is the best that I can do.-paulSo the best answer I can give you is that Paul will call me next time he is in Texas, and we will arrange to ship you the replacement glass then.Regards,Sales Dept.Threshold Concepts, Inc. "
There is always an answer on my phone, because I have voicemail. It would be far more credible, if he had left a message. Also, there was nothing on the caller ID, which picks up even if an unknown number calls. I did, finally, get an e-mail from him, that said he would try to get me a replacement top in two months. That is the extent of the offer. If it is this hard to get his attention now, how am I going to contact him in two months??

That sucks! It's amazing your plasma survived. It could have been MUCH worse. I won't be buying Avdeco.
