arstechnica.com — The group's website lays out their goals (no English translation available). Instead of a "transparent citizenry," the group demands a "transparent government" instead, one that does not monitor the activities of its citizens at all times.

Bring back the days of senators taking guns into the senate!<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Hart_Benton_%28senator%29">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Hart_Benton_%28senator%29</a>"Benton was nearly shot by pistol-wielding Mississippi Senator Henry S. Foote, who had taken umbrage to Benton's vitriolic sparring with Vice-President Millard Fillmore."I seem to remember a member of Congress was shot on the floor of whichever part of Congress he was in, but can't find a reference. There was much less fooling around when you could get shot over it.

Are you implying that Bush is NOT a "girlieman"? Need I remind you how he lost fights to a bicycle in Scottland, and lost to a pretzel on our own soil?Very girlie.

ZIG Hiel !The third Reich ??Brown shirts and the goose step ??Watch them closely before you go to the camps....And I don't mean summer camp.People don't have to conform, but they should respect the rights of others. When you trample on my rights, the hooks above the mantle are empty.A flag stated it once, "Don't tread om me."bdpf

You never know. In a few (and probably a few more) years, this party may gain a bit more prominence. Whether in Germany, Sweden or wherever, it could stand a chance. It's also worth noting that the different countries stand alone; I suspect some may have different ideas about the matter of copyright etc. It'd be nice to see at least one country having the Pirate Party in charge :].

Whatever country it may come onto power will be probably part of the European Union, surely of WTO. None of those organizations will allow it to pursue its policies, so either they'll have to change them or, simply, they will be outlawed. You're betting on a dead horse.
