yeah, you missed the point. capitalism is free and open. communism would be the opposite. the *AA's position is not one of capitalism. they are monitoring people and infringing on basic freedoms. they havea monopoly on their product. if were are to buy anything, we have to buy from them - so their are, in fact - deciding what we buy. rather than compete with Pirates by putting out better products, they alienate their customers because they know (lease see above) that we have no one else to go to.drug dealers do the same thing when they kill other drug dealers over turf.

I don't know if pirating is right or wrong. I thought about it and it's pointless to think about. It's probably somewhere in the middle. Good for dark net. RIAA.....it's your move.The music industry has to make it easier to buy music than to use-without-a-license/steal it. That will solve a lot of the problems. Down w/ DRM!If you pirate something, and you like it, you should go out and buy it. If you pirate it and it sucks, f**k it.

i don't know much about all the technologies involved in what i'm proposing here, and maybe someone mentioned this earlier on this board or on one somewhere else, but:wouldn't it be possible to use the Relakks network for sharing files using the method devised and released recently by Digital Douwd? wouldn't this remove the problems inherent in each system?for example, on this discussion page we are worried about the people who run Relakks turning informant or something, or someone monitoring their network, this being the main loophole in their promise of privacy. and on the discussion page for the OFF program (the Digital Douwd thing) they are worried that the RIAA can still see who is downloading the "template" file that shows how all those little bits of code can be arranged to make a movie or music file, thus telling the RIAA what copyrighted material you have constructed. but if you're trading little bits of anonymous, reusable code using the OFF program, on Relakks's VPN that is highly encrypted and all that, what do they have against you?
