gizmodo.com— Yes, Pioneer's current Kuro—the "best flat-panel ever"—was shedding light like a sumbitch next to Pioneer's concept Kuro, whose black literally emits no light.

The exposure settings come under the category of setup in my opinion. Also, do you really have to post that same comment so damn often on the same page?
So the black is produced by actually turning off a pixel instead of leaving it at idle voltage? This may give you a true R:0 G:0 B:0, but at R:1 G:1 B:1, there's going to be a bit of a jump when the pixel turns back on... You'd end up with a smooth gradient and then serious banding right when it reaches 000 black.

Also unbelievable is that gizmodo are now summarising their own articles instead of their usual ploy of just summarising someone else's....The source for this "news":http://gizmodo.com/341199/pioneer-unveils-kuro-con ...

I picked up a 42" Kuro (the 4280) for $1760 shipped and set up from Amazon. It's expensive, but that's hardly richie rich.
