There are several programs out there to convert videos to MP4 and MPEG. iTunes (on windows) will automatically convert WMA files if they are not protected by any DRM. You can also set the quality iTunes imports at pretty easily, if your concerned about loosing quality.

I'm interested in how difficult it is for myself to take those things apart. If they make it harder for me to have its battery replaced then that will become an issue.
