sfgate.com— This circumzenithal arc, photographed in Concord, looks like an upside-down rainbow but is formed differently. Photo

This is hilarious, my old english teacher used to say that the rainbow (being God's symbol to never again flood the earth) is because it is in the shape of a bow pointing upward. He also used to say that if we ever saw a rainbow upside down we'd all be in trouble, of course he was joking, but little did he know...
It's nice of you, scjones, to reveal that you don't know that it's a song. Or that it has been covered by many 'people' Like Sarah McLaughlin and Kermit the frog. Or that you think it's gay.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eubQfKYFOPcWhy do you use gay as an insult? Can you say 'closet'?Such a person of hetero-manly quality, as yourself, is rare. Were you born fully grown? Yeah, sue me for liking some things that were around when I was a child. I've no shame on that account.Have a happy non-gay day, scjones!
Rainbows are actually full circles, we usually can only see the top half.If you don't believe me, go outside on a really sunny day, set your hose to "mist" (if you have that setting), then spread the misty water around to reveal the entire circle. It's sweet.

That picture was photoshopped. No, that's just a really cool looking rainbow made by hexagonal ice crystals.

The rainbow is NOT upside down, the trees are obviously growing out of the sky.
