i.gizmodo.com— Messing with ads in subways is becoming somewhat of an artform, but this "Photoshopping" of ads in Berlin takes things to the next level. This is pitch-perfect adbusting right here.

As a graphic designer myself, you'd be surprised how many layers and adjustments can go into even a simpler ad. Photoshopping and desktop publishing is as much engineering as it is art. If anything, I appreciate an ad more with with all those palettes there, because it should make people realize how much work and skill goes into making an ad.When you're dealing with a model's face, blown up to such a large size, of course you're going to Photoshop out imperfections. It's not that they weren't beautiful before... however at that size and resolution, a tiny little wringle, zit, or what-have-you is suddenly measured in inches.I'll note that the -excessive- editing and airbrushing (such as that found in some of the larger magazines) is rare in the business. In my career, I've never extended someone's legs, airbrushed their skin to the consistency of paint, nor made their breasts larger... but I imagine when you're working with supermodels and Hollywood celebrities, you have a lot more pressure to make them look that much better.
I'm glad to see more people are exposing the powerful tools of manipulation used to trick over-consuming, corn-feed, domesticated cows into spending their hard earned cash on sugar-trinkets and saturated fats.
I agree, we need more of this. Let this grow into a giant movement. Paste this over all photoshop-celebreties so the kids doesn't have to get so stressed out by the fact that they're not as pretty as all the fake-artists.
Has anyone ever got in trouble for manipulating adverts?I recall reading an article about a guy who does such stuff in the US, and often police stop him and ask him what he's doing (if they actually twig he's not just putting the ad up to start with), he politely explains, they shrug and walk on.

Except that most kids do not know what the interface to Adobe Photoshop looks like, and therefore will receive nothing from this.

It reminds us. That serves for my girlfriend, who keeps on forgetting that, and wanting plastic surgery.
