gnato.deviantart.com— The work of popular deviantART photographer, gnato, was stolen and used as a book cover! Does anyone know a good copyright attorney?

Are the people posting here wailing about how evil this publisher is saying "it's illegal", or "it's wrong"? (Or do most people somehow think those two things are related?) Because if all you're saying is "it's illegal", well, no question. But if you're saying "it's wrong", and most people seem to be, then why keep bringing up irrelevancies like legality? Tell me why you think it's wrong, and why latecomers should gain rights over other people's already-existing property, not just that some guy in Washington or wherever insists that's the case and will do untold violence unto those who choose to live their own lives, because that fact alone is uninteresting. If /you/ want to argue that "might makes right", go right ahead (but note that the very fact of attempting to argue the position presupposes that you don't believe that!)
i'm not going to digg this at all. why do we (the general population) have selective 'caring'. We make a big deal (by digging 3,000+) about someone using a copyrighted photo but it's ok to steal copyrighted music and movies? hmmmm
@nazadus"What good is writing OpenOffice.org software when you don't get paid for it? ohh.. wait...Because it's a hobby you enjoy."Yes, but there are two differences with your example. The first being when you work on an open source project, you know perfectly well you are not going to get paid for your contributions before you write a line of code.Secondly, and more importantly, even in open source projects you are credited for your work - albeit not financially. Read the about pages, go through source comments, check the project credits, and all contributing developers names will appear... i.e. you are credited for your work.In this case the image was taken, without permission, and without credit, so all the hard work and effort is not linked back to the originator. And it is never wrong to expect that to happen.

could be a mock up for visual representation. The graphic designer who made it probably frequents deviantart and steals s**t all the time.
