research.philips.com — The Entertaible (worst name ever?) combines traditional social tabletop gaming with multiplayer computer gaming by turning the gameboard into a touch-sensitive, object position-tracking display. Players will be able to play using traditional boardgame pieces and dice on dynamic playing fields or changing levels -- and maybe even a dungeon?

I can't see them shelling out 6 grand though if they could get a CRT unit for much less. I guess a few upscale places could buy it, but I don't really see this fitting into their core market. Once again a case of cool idea... high price... no market. :-P Too bad though.

"Just keep a box of white latex gloves (the kind hospitals use) next to the table, and make people wear them."Make sure they're latex. You wouldn't want Michael Jackson showing up at your doorstep, now would you? HEEheee

@lerinlasSome people still like board games, and set in a bar, where many people are around, you're bound go gain some money.....especially if each player has to pop in a few quarters before they can play.
