wired.com— I've noticed a wonderful trend happening at universities these past few years: projects that integrate sex and technology in innovative ways to improve human health and well-being.

Funny. I manage to impress people without a Ph.D or Master's - just with things I've written. You'd be surprised how much farther a good portfolio goes than a degree. I'm convinced that the 'no-paperwork' horror stories come from University marketing campaigns.
Cute, but certainly something I could put together in a couple months, from conception to completion. I spent two years putting my masters thesis together, and I went to a s**tty college. Nice beats though.
I used massive amounts of super computing power to analyze genetic sequences in search of a gene related to cancer. It was one of the most grueling experiences of my life. I spent many many long hours in the lab and ate many many bottles of aspirin. Right before I presented my thesis some woman presented hers on the "perfectly designed voting ballot". A ballot which looked incredibly similar to the one that supposedly cost Al Gore the election. She left with a Ph.D. I left with a Masters in Science thinking "what the hell just happened"? This video reminds me of that day.
