engadget.com — When Ryan Block (our former Editor-in-chief) and Peter Rojas (founder of Engadget, Gizmodo, and RCRD LBL) announced last year that they were embarking on a new project together, alarm bells went off across the interblogs. I had the opportunity to use the site for a bit and I would say it is much too early to make any determination. The concept of being able to share what gadgets you own, have owned, or want is nifty . . . but I do wonder what real value that adds.Lack of support for OpenID or similar service was surprising. I really expected them to be ahead of the curve on this one. There were some usability issues I felt were present in the navigation. I wonder how much research they put into it? I felt there were areas that were not intuitive. There isn't any content up yet so we'll see how things progress. I wouldn't count these guys out by any means, but so far I didn't see anything that really differentiated them from other sites. They've got their work cut out for them, I'm skeptical right now but I am going to stick with it and see how they develop.

What the hell is the point of this website and what it offers? Yay, I get to be bragadocious about the gadgets I own on my Facebook page! Like the guy above me said.. it took 12 months to come up with this idiotic concept?
