You guys are lucky, that's the absolute best type of 3D that's currently possible.The Disney Digital 3D is incredibly horrible. It uses a single projector and polarized lenses. Basically causing the same effect as cheap shutter glasses and effectively halving the framerate. Watching a movie in 12FPS is horrible.Not sure about IMAX 3D but I can only assume they knew what they were doing and used a dual projector system like your schools.
Already exists; saw it 2-3 years ago at Siggraph. It didnt look that great when I saw it though; not terribly high-rez, and you had to look at the screen pretty much straight on to get the best of the effect. Also, it looked as though it worked by placing some sort of filter in front of a standard plasma screen.Personally, I dont really care too much about watching movies, or TV shows in 3D. Games on the other hand...

actually there are already equipment out there that lets you view 3-d. actually without even a screen.........hologram!!
