Here's some old figures, but it includes a breakdown for each beverage."The company's most evident marketing strategy is advertising. Coca -Cola?s global advertising budget exceeded $1.6 billion in the late 1990s. In 1999 the company spent $867 million for advertising in the United States alone -- $174.4 million for Coca-Cola beverages, $68.4 million for Sprite, $41.4 million for Minute Maid, and $17.6 million for Powerade""PepsiCo spends even more on advertising. Its total domestic advertising budget was $1.31 billion in 1999 -- $165 million for Pepsi beverages, $37.7 million for Mountain Dew"<a class="user" href="http://www.naturalnews.com/003914.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.naturalnews.com/003914.html</a>

I bought it too. I really don't like the onion. I can make up my own news in my head if I wanted to.

Just sarcasm. 8)Aimed at the onion fanboys who don't like anyone criticizing their junk.

> You don't notice advertising? How is the weather on your private island man? It's like pink noise, you learn to tune it out. > stop sponsoring/advertising no talent hacks like Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera.People like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, so that's who they sponsor. I don't think the problem is Pepsi sponsoring those people, the problem is people like lousy music.Again, this doesn't effect me in any way. I've got my Dave Brubeck records and they still sound good to me.

These big companies have huge advertizing contracts. It sounds good but skipping days would probably give those pushy salespeople a stroke ..I think Geico is the worst culprit, and I have had my fill of that stupid gecko..Imagine if Warren Buffet donated all of that ad money , that would be the best marketing he could do.. What is the point of spending all this money on ads that are not even honest. Do any of you actually have Geico insurance? .. And the reason why they are not competitive is because of all the $$ they waste in those ads. When is the last time you saw a Metlife auto insurance ad? .. I bet they can beat Geico...Advertizing is like gov and diapers..
