Propaganda works fine in the US while the war is in Iraq. But when your own neighborhood is being taken over by sectarian warlords it doesn't quite have the same effect. You can't win a war with propaganda the same as you cannot democratize a nation with a gun. I don't claim to be an expert but the thinking in Washington concerning the execution of the Iraq war borders on utter lunacy.

What little I hear about the Iraqi media makes me think it's almost non-existent. What with rebels blowing up and burning news organizations, the assumed government jailing and shutting down some offices, and now the Bush admin wants to color what little news is left.Looks like the only reliable info will be from bloggers.
