I'm also living in Japan. You're right, Japan is pretty safe. I live in Okinawa and I can go for a walk to the park at midnight and not have to worry about getting mugged. There's the occasional drunk guy peeing in the bushes though, but I think that's pretty funny. I think my favorite thing about living in Japan is how they make everything so convenient. I mean, you buy noodles at Family Mart and they give you hot water right there to cook them, there's no crazy packaging that you need hedge trimmers to open (you know, the plastic packages that are like two layers and they are all fused together), and the taxis that zip around everywhere that have the automatic doors on them (and they also know where to take you to get laid). I'm going on a quest to find these batteries tomorrow after my wife goes to work.
