I haven't seen the windows Apple Software Updated but isn't there a way to select the safari update and then in a menu "Ignore This Update (and future updates)" like in the macintosh Software Updater? I know it's not obvious (in the Macintosh version) but it is there and then u never see those updates again (unless you reset ignored updates).
Simple fix for old computer that can not be upgrade to windows nt, 2000, xp or Vista. Download the Ev pluging for firefox and download the user agent. Then use the user agent to change the userstring and browser you have. This fools the site into think you have a new computer. No need to rush out a buy a computer you can not afford. Who wants vista anyway.
