sethgodin.typepad.com— Paypal has Seth by the balls and not allowing him to make money. It's like your bank not allowing you to accept money. Seems counter-productive for Paypal to do.

I think anyone that has used PayPal's customer service has found it quite an experience. I have 3 horrorstories myself that I'd rather not remember. Why is there no good alternative?
To add to the small chorus of horror stories, I'll share that my account was frozen (the actual PayPal euphemism is "limited") for similar reasons -- too much activity, too fast, raised red flags. The irony is that the account was set up to accept donations to benefit a neighbor in our small town who was diagnosed with cancer. So PayPal's over-vigilance, and the difficulty with getting it straightened up, really made a bad impression under the circumstances.
Right on, Seth! Paypal SUCKS! In fact, I am on hold with them now. IMHO, it is the WORST company in the world. They have a monopoly in their space. I wish I had an alternative.
Right, well that's why micro-payments systems are going to be what seperates the wheat from the chaff when it comes to doing business online. The more popular ecommerce gets, the more people swear not to use PayPal. However, if the revolt against eBay continues and their "monopoly" get tapped into by a competitior, then maybe ebay and PayPal won't have their bully pulpit anymore, and will respect their customers a LOT more. I have no horrorstories. Yet - probably because all I do is pay through them. It's still rich.
