techcrunch.com — At PayScale users go through a process of disclosing detailed information about their job function and compensation, and add it to what PayScale says is the ?world?s largest database of salary information.? The user can then access detailed salary information in the database, including custom reports based on salary, bonus, commission, etc.

It is just like sports players. If you are the best this year than you will demand the most pay the next year. This continues to the point where the salaries of the players make the cost of tickets beyond the amount normal people can afford. The truth is we pay each other so if one gets a pay raise it will come from the salary of another who is not fortunate enough to have the right skills at the right time.

I posted the link to payscale back when I was looking for a new job. Only 5 diggs. Gotta love it! Still, I'm interested in how other jobs compare. I paid the 14.95 to join, and it was worth it in my opinion.

Yes, let's not talk about two of the things that affect every day society and our lives. Best to just talk about the weather...

the reasons for pay once in a company are subjective and political. upfront negotiating for salary before employment starts is the smart ticket. www.indeed.com/salary/ gives real time insight to what companies are paying for skill sets.
