I'm curious to hear exactly why selling a PS3 would be risky... I see thousands of PS3 auctions going on right now, and they aren't being closed left and right. What happened in this case that makes it so unique?

You sure this isn't another scam email?

Oooh, big f**king surprise. If you haven't learned PayPal's ways by now then you are a MORON.

Don't get me started on eBay and PayPal. They just f**ked me in the ass, big time. It's a long story... They are a very evil, monopolistic corporation and I hope someone burns down their f**king headquarters. These guys are simply outrageous when it comes to what they get away with. Customers are garbage to them. I guess this is what happens when you have 99% of the online auction market share. Try to work something out or reason with them sometimes. All you will get are Indian drones who can barely put two English sentences together cutting and pasting standard responses and then disconnecting you when you tell them what you think about their evil practices. :(BTW, what would happens if I close my accounts and refuse to pay? Will they turn it over to a collection agency? Can that ruin my good credit standing?

The guy opened a website with all of the details and proof: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/miahzshiznitz/eBay-PayPal-Dispute/

@flameboyIt hasn't yet anyway. My bank just called a couple weeks ago to offer me a line of credit. So they still seem to think my credit is fine. (I must note, I'm In Canada so maybe the English credit agency had little recourse).

If you read the entire thread, or at least a pretty good amount of it you'll see that nobody was done any wrong. Because of the high demand of the PS3 units along with the fact that eBay was well aware that there were going to be shortages and that some presold units were not going to get delivered, they siad they would not allow postings of "resale PS3s". That's simple enough to understand. What if this guy sold his presale PS3 and then he was one of the unlucky folks who were informed by GameStop that their order could not be filled due to shortages by Sony? This guy might have presold his presale unit for triple it's value, taken the people's money, and then said he didn't have the PS3 for delivery. Can you see the problem? So eBay told this guy he had to pull his posting and not repost until he had provided some information, to include proof that he actually had a PS3 in his posession. They then told him if he reposted his PS3 without providing that proof that they would cancel his Paypal account and his eBay account. I can't say what happened, but I get the disticnt feeling he reposted the auction without providing the proof of possession, and eBay did exactly what they told him they would do. I uderstand the craze around being one of the first to have the PS3, but when these ri[poffs were posting PS3s at $5,000 and up I'm happy to know that eBay is watching out for the consumer. If I paid $5,000 and then a guy said he was sorry but he didn't get the PS3, I'd be ready to kick some ass, escpecially if the bastard had already cshed my money order. This guy is squeaking too loudly to be innocent of any wrongdoing. Ebay didn't drop him JUST for posting a PS3.

That's why I just only put enough money into Paypal to pay for the max bid of an item I'd be after while the auction goes on. Afterwards, I transfer everything out until I need to get something that I can only get on eBay.
