using 8 DIP latches is the simplest and cheapest way, the kit must be very easy to make so no SMT parts are allowed.

I'm impressed. This is a great Proof Of Concept. I think with a little more tinkering and some good engineering, this would be the coolest set of wheels on the street.

People censor excitement because a post of "wow..." is boring, as is your post and mine replying to yours. They're not very interesting reads, in fact they're quite boring. A useful comment adds something to the thread that's interesting or useful, or perpetuates a geek-humor cliche that's still funny (or so far past funny it's funny).
