psp-hacks.com — This guy has developed a phone chip for the PSP, thus the name ?PSPhone.? Though currently unable to make outgoing calls, this contraption is able to receive incoming calls, and display the current signal strength! PSPhone is also capable of communicating over both CDMA & GSM cellular networks.

Welcome to "Hooking a Cellular Module to a Serial Port 101"<a class="user" href="http://www.sparkfun.com/">http://www.sparkfun.com/</a>This dude built a cable and some simple power electronics (maybe used a max232 to interface to the serial too) And yet he can't even get his app to place a call? This means he can't send data to the serial port. Normally on the modules it's a simple matter of sending ATDT5551212 (just like a modem) This guy is getting a lot of publicity over being a very very poor programmer.
