First thing they should do is make standard + shaped D-pad and either pay Nintendo for it or tell them to screw themselves, I dont hink that patent could hold up, it's too obvious a design choice and is like patenting a steering wheel. If they are able to miniturize the guts then they should put in a bigger battery. Almost every device I own could benefit from a bigger battery and the size of the unti would barely go up.

As long as it doesn't have a touch screen, I'm fine with it. A touch screen would make fanboys' heads on both sides explode and I don't want your brain matter on my new PSP screen, thanks. :)

i just want them to make the browser more stable (ie. not run out of memory so often). other than that, a little more power never hurts. as a portable entertainment device/media player, i can't really think of anything else that the PSP is missing. maybe a full-fledged RSS reader, but if its browser issues are fixed, then there are plenty of web-based ones that would work just fine--like google reader.i guess for the next generation PSP, not the upcoming update, they could add a touchscreen like the DS. that would be pretty cool and add more gaming/homebrew possibilities. a qwerty keypad would be awesome as well. but there's only so much you can add to a compact device, and the current balance of functionality and portability is pretty good IMO.as far as an update to the current design, i'd just like to see more memory in the PSP, which should fix the browser problem, though it might be fixable through software changes, and maybe a better interface for the MP3 player which allows better organization & management of a large MP3 library. something like the iPod's interface would be a great improvement.

there's no way Sony would ever help you copy/rip games off of UMD disks. you can already download ISOs and CSOs and store them on your SD card and boot them from it with custom firmware. so there's really no point in asking Sony to provide such features.as long as SD memory continues to drop, the need for an internal HDD isn't vital. 4GB SD cards can be bought for less than $30, and higher capacity SDHC cards should be coming soon.personally, i wish the current PSPs had dual analogs instead of one. it would make FPS games like Call of Duty so much easier to control. and yea, ergonomic enhancements like moving the current analog nub up would definitely be welcomed.
