They simply used the same code from the PSX, they had it working so to speak years ago. And what do you expect them to code into the system to improve games? It plays games already.
@dementedcrabsI agree. At first, I thought the 360 menu system with the blades thing was kinda swanky. But side-by-side, in action, it's starting to look a little clunky. Of course this is a personal preference thing, but the 360 menu just doesn't look as organic as the PS3 GUI. I'll wait for the final version to make a judgement, though.
"The text is so small compared to the rest of the screen (a lot of wasted space)"Do you set all your font sizes huge or something? I think by "wasted space" you mean "kept clean"
I like the PS3 to succeed, but the menu system isn't really that good. I don't want to have to create folders to organize my music and videos. I want it to organize my entire music library for me using the metadata tags included with each media file. The menu system could be better if each item on the cross bar functioned more like tabs (which you can scroll through with the L1 and R1 buttons), with each tab containing organization tools and metadata info.
Okay, I'm taking notes, give me a sec...All I need is a... Xbox 360... and a Media Center PC... with a Capture card of course.Ha, wonder how many of those I can buy for the price of a PS3.

I actually like the original Project Mayhem III for XBMC, but if your more gamer oriented I would have to say XBOX 360 or MC360 is better.
