I believe so, otherwise it would have been based on BSD like Apple did with OSX. This is potentially very big news that has the potential to silence a heck of a lot of people.

'cause ya know, everyone and every division at Sony was responsible for rootkit and should have been killed instantly after it was discovered.get over rootkit. it happened. it was stupid (an incredible blunder). let's hope they all learned their lesson.besides, Microsoft (the maker of the XBOX 360 for those of you keeping score) would NEVER put something intrusive on our computers now, would they?
