I don't think there's anything weird about it. It's what architecture SHOULD be - a progression of the aesthetic styles of the culture. India has an architectural style, and just because technology advances doesn't mean it has to get lost.The US is bad about this - our super-structures are ugly, flat, and boring. Look at the Sears Tower or the old Twin Towers versus the Chrysler or the Empire State.Americans lost their way, and just started making boring, straight buildings. Prolly cause we're lazy.
A nice way to keep the ancient form of architecture alive. The ancient temples in India are dying slowly because of over enthusiastic visitors. People tend to touch and feel the art work. The chiselled work on stones is gradually getting erased because of this.
