hardestboss.com — Unreal Tournament 3 has been getting a lot of coverage lately and these new screen shots should hold people off for a little while. The best part about these screens isn?t so much the beautiful graphics, but the way the vehicles look. There?s some interesting looking machines in this in game which aren?t in your standard FPS titles.

"uh, is it really a flame to say the xbox360 will probably run the game at about 10fps?we all know its true"Thats why it's the same engine and graphical bar as a game that already runs on the 360 at a solid 30+ without a hitch?

judging by the dimensions of the photos and the aspect ratio, these seem to just be marketing shots. none of the images imply actual gameplay; no first or third person views.i could be wrong, but considering the age of most of these screenshots, plus the fact that they are grouped in with other "known" marketing shots, its unlikely that these are straight from the game w.o additional processing. i believe that epic can squeeze out this level of performance, but these shots are def not "in game".

Am I the only one amused by the obvious amount of effort put into the cleavage of the female character in the last pic? That means some guy somewhere was in charge of making sure the girls were just right. That just cracks me up.

If you want to be really technical, the new engine will be able to render Normal Maps; which create a three-dimensional look to a 2-D surface. A brick texture can have depth and still be 2-D. Very cool stuff this engine will be pumping out. I am creating maps for UT2004 in my Game Content Creation class. I can't wait until they release it to developers. Soon you won't be able to tell the difference between games and real life.
