Right... When did an embassy NEED a pool? a gym? ANY of this? First off, the designs look ridiculous its not even funny. If your going to spend 592 Mill. on crap, at least make it look modern and decent? Second, its gonna be under constant attack from the public revolting against the US. They don't want them there, why do they keep insisting on staying? Third, NO ONE supports this except closed minded idiots and the US Gov't members who gave this thing the green light. Honestly, I say the US should screw elections and knock out Bush right now. Elect someone new right now to take over, cause the more time they waste waiting for the elections, the more time Bush and his cronies have to cause havoc.
I agree that opening an embassy is an important, symbolic move - to signify transition of our role from an occupier to an ally - but an embassy that's the world's largest and most expensive ($590 million)? In these times when millions of people in our country are unemployed & faced with economic hardships, & when our government is experiencing serious resource constraints to provide unemployment benefits, food stamps, quality education, affordable housing, etc? .... Jeez ....

It's really sad when the only politician that will tell the truth, likely has Alzheimer's .

The locals will be hired to shine American shoes and serve food (hopefully laced with arsenic).

I love the neocon f**ktard above who said the building of this embassy shows that we "care for the troops."
