tech.yahoo.com — One of Windows Vista's biggest selling points was that it was the only way you could DirectX 10, the software component that would be required to play the very latest video games in their full glory. Sure, you could still play games in DirectX 9, but the differences with DirectX 10, Microsoft promised, would be striking.

You do know that if your OS doesn't use the resource in some way then that game can't use it. The OS runs on top of the hardware and apps run on top of the OS... fail.

That is why the motherboard is the latest hardware on my computers as I am planning them for the long haul. I do all my research on them before I just go out and buy them first. I have had many computers, and I only have had one mobo that had issues (static issues on the board, mouse ports gone using USB instead), and now it is my Web Dev server running on LAMP. If you plan it correctly you should have a good computer running for a while. But see that is the problem why most users will not take PC gaming seriously cause it takes lot of hard work and learning to stay and keep in it. Personally the PC gaming community seem more Hardcore than the console market, and that has been going on since back when N64 was around. But then again you get these experiences in not just the gaming community but also in other community like the auto community. There are those that are dedicated to their cars and there are many of us that use it to drive from point A to point B.
