blog.wired.com— If it seems like technology and cartoon humor don't fit as well together as crusty old millionaires and big-boob gold-diggers, it's probably true.

oh i get it because if you spend money on an expensive phone you can't afford to spend it on gas as gas is expensive nowadays but so are smartphones so its tough decision if you should get a smartphone or spend money on gas instead of getting a smartphone because a smartphone has all these extra features but the gas is a necessity
I liked the Joy of Tech one about the cost of the iPhone. Interestingly Radio Shack had a cute little 9" laptop for $99 but when you read the fine print, it also had at&t wireless and that was $60 a month for a two year contract. Total would be $1,539. If you wanted you could buy the machine for $499 without contract obligation but it did have the at&t modem plus 802.11 networking too. And that modem, it's gsm so you could use it with anyones services. When I mentioned that to the RS salesperson he got a dejected look on his face. I guess RS makes a good profit on it tool
