mnocket, I agree with you in part - it is foolish unfair to paint *all* Republicans with the same brush. As with any other group, Republicans have their share of sane, intelligent people.At the same time, it's not like there's a radical fringe of the party that is distorting the main party line. No; what these people are saying HAS BECOME the party line, because the GOP has allowed its voice and central message to become hijacked by the lunatics. Their leaders' statements and actions are very much in line with what the birther/racist fringe is saying.All of the sane, intelligent, moderate Republicans are sadly irrelevant to the national stage in the current political climate. Until and unless they actively denounce the neo-cons, until and unless they start running for office and getting voted into office, they are NOT the voice and the power base of the GOP.
