seattlepi.nwsource.com — For American-made honey, the "organic" boast, experts say, is highly suspect. Beekeepers may be doing their part, but honeybees have a foraging range of several miles, exposing them to pesticides, fertilizers and pollutants on their way back to the hive.

Okay. You can't control where ever a bee flies. That's understandable. However, you can limit exposure. I won't mention brands because I'd rather not be called a shill, but when I buy raw honey I always buy from producers that utilize organic farming methods in the fields the hives are kept, and do not utilize artificial chemical or antibiotic treatments on the hives themselves. This is copied and pasted from one of the producer's pages - Organic bee colonies are not maintained with the use of any chemicals! * Terramycin for treating foulbrood disease, * Apistan for Verroa mites, * GardStar for treating small hive beetles, nor * Bee Go to chase bees instead of using a smoker.Sure, a bee may eventually fly through some contaminant now and then, but by using good practices its possible to limit what they're exposed to. There are many fraudulent products out there. Make sure your honey comes from a local, trusted source and you know their bee keeping and farming methods.

Racism is a radical tangent. But otherwise I basically agree with you. Although purity is a real thing and can be achieved. You can purify things like water, gases, or metals and there is no argument that pure is pure. Things that are living or are derived from living organisms are not ever pure in the chemical sense.

True about the bees going wherever they want. If you put them in the middle of an organic apple orchard for instance, and they have so many millions of flowers to work on in just a few square acres, they have no need or desire to travel any further than where they are placed. They are not going to waste time and energy flying all over the place looking for a food source when they have one 300 feet or less outside their door, which is nearly inexhaustable. Just saying.

I hope the honey I buy is chemical-free, but more so I hope the bees willbe around to keep making honey 10 years from now. We need to bee-aware..get it? https://karmafarmonline.com

Processed honey, like the kind you find in the grocery store, has had the nutrients and beneficial bacteria destroyed. You don't have this problem with RAW HONEY. Honey is not only healthy for you over white sugar, it stops the pain of a burn and aids in faster healing.
