Interesting story. It seems only fair to put the disclaimer. Browns book may be entertaining but it is not factual. To at least state that it is a work of speculation, would help reduce the chance of people embracing Brown's statements as absolute truth. I hope Sony takes this step.
Not really - you don't see disclaimers on the majority of (fiction) films. The only one I can remember is Dogma. Generally you assume a film is fiction unless it explicitly says e.g. "Based on a true story..."
