So what he's saying is, Ron Paul could be at 10% in the polls, but his results would be "multiplied" down to 2% if that fit better with previous polls or what the pollster expects. What if a candidate is enjoying a legitimate jump in support, though?The polls shouldn't discourage Ron Paul backers anyway. Turnout in the primaries is less than 20% usually. Ron Paul could win without ever topping 10% in an opinion poll, just by having all of his supporters show up on election day.

The only poll that counts is the one on election day. Straw polls and internet polls are more accurate but do not represent the average voter. I saw one internet poll where Ron Paul got 86%. Everyone likes to see that but it only takes a second to click on Ron Paul's name. It's more important to organize local volunteers in preparation for the primaries.
