I'm going to have to agree with Skoles above me, i like my black ipod video as much as the next guy, its not really a big deal for me when apple releases a new product and everyone rushes to get one. it took me 3 months just to get my hands on a video ipod, but that is because i wait for some poor sap on eBay to buy my previous ipod via an auction during the Xmas rush to do my ipod upgrades for free. anyway back to my point here, apple just knows how to present a product, that product may not be the best on the market or even the cheapest but they know how to sell it to the public, and that's what matters in today's free market. Apple builds hype offers something new about the product that makes you feel the previous one just now sucks in comparison and compels you to get the latest and greatest, my point will be proved later this year when gen 2 of the nano comes out and gen 6 of the ipod (or finally that true wide-screen ipod comes out). Also you can't deny that apple doesn't know a thing about aesthetics, i look at my ipod next to my friends previous zen mp3 player and the ipod wins on pure sexiness alone. The same can be said of their line of notebooks, those things are freaking drop dead gorgeous compared to dell, acer, HP, gateway, etc etc. I like the look of the books but i would never buy one simply because I'm a gamer and apples don't do games yet. But if some PC company came out with a laptop/desktop case that looked as good as apple and performed as well as a IBM-comp. i would buy one like that...
