If 20 tracks is only 5% of the average number of songs on an iPod then that implies that the average person only has 400 songs on their iPod.Personally, I have 6500 (to the nearest 100) of which I have bought 500 by download. Of those 500 only 30 or so are from full albums, all the rest are individual songs, both new and old which I wouldn't normally have bought - extra sales. Even if I were to consider buying a single, I would rarely be bothered to go out and actually buy it without digital downloads.Admittedly any new albums I buy are still in a physical format but the vast majority of my collection is cd's that I owned long before digital downloads, even if everything I bought now was digital it would take a lot of purchases to make a dent. All that aside, if you consider that I have 6500 songs and the supposed average is 400 - a lot of people either own no music or haven't put the cd's they own onto their iPod yet. Finally, digital downloads account for a large portion of the singles charts in the UK, it's growing fast and the market is still young. Ultimately does it really matter? Sales as a whole are surely the most important.
