blog.wired.com — I just spoke with Tim Westergren, founder of Pandora, and he told me a SoundExchange exec just promised -- in front of Congress -- that SoundExchange will not enforce the collection of webcaster royalties under the new rates that would have driven many of them out of business.

This is definitely the news I've been waiting to hear for months! Fantastic! It seems that the voice of reason/the people has been so rarely heard as of late, but this is a nice bit of news.

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but it's because the justice system was farked that they were able to do what they did. They didn't destroy anything other than what little good faith we had in them.

HELLO,KEEP UP THE CALLING and WRITING to congress and do not let this distract us. While it is good news, it is also just a way to be more under handed and secretive about the idea they have to shut down independent choices every which way you LQQK!!! Just keep screaming at them all. The internet privledges are not free, I pay dearly to hear what I want too, when I want to. Thanks for fighting assinine regulators. Too bad congress would work on enforcing laws they have made in the past. How about starting with the Constitution.?. `~Judy~`

Right, and since no one can comply the station streamers will be given a 24 hour cease order like Sound Exchange is known to hand out, so again Tuesday NET RADIO DIES. :)

How do you figure the US Constitution is going to save Internet Radio? Cruel and unusual punishment refers to fines and penalties levied by agents acting on behalf of the government not by agents who act in the best interest of money grubbing lobbyists.
