thinkprogress.org — To mark the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the White House is planning a "public relations blitz" to counteract the charges that it bears some responsibility for the reconstruction mess. This timeline counteracts the spin with facts, documenting all the key events over the last year.

Speaking for myself only, I digg down Michelle Malkin because she spews nothing but propaganda. She uses generalizations of certain facts pertaining to specific incidents and gives them the illusion that they are universal occurrences. Her articles encourage a certain view point that promotes ignorance and intolerance. It is spam, lame, etc.

Again I never suggested Rumsfeld was to blame, so don't put word to my mouth. I blame the Bush administration for their response or lack of it. As for Malkin I stand by my previous statement.

The left provides the timeline of their own reality. Too bad it does not match the actual timeline.

Being born and raised in Florida, I find this Katrina angle very odd. We lived in Hollywood when hurricane Donna came through. It was a cat. 4 and did extensive damage. When it was over, everyone got down to the business of cleaning up the mess. The thought that the government had some responsibility in this never crossed our minds. Our property, our mess, our clean-up. Even if blaming the government made any sense whatsoever, it seems the local government is what failed here. Ray Nagin and Katherine Blanco failed miserably to do what they were elected to do. I hope the federal government never gains the authority to be responsible for my personal life and property. No, the hurricane was not a Bush conspiracy to get rid of the population of New Orleans. It was a lesson in how people no longer take personal responsibility because they've been publicly enabled to blame someone else, i.e. the government.

Hmm, lets draw everyones attention away from the fact that the federal government is designed to assist local responders. If the local responders (under the authority of the Mayor and Governor) fail, the federal government isn't going to be able to pick up all of the pieces... especially when the Feds only play for a supporting role.Geez, this was a failure of the Mayor and Governor. Remember the picture of a flooded parking lot of buses? Of course not, we would rather blame Bush. Because if you blame the mayor, then you must be a racists.
