My only complaint about gmail checking other accounts is that the time interval between checks is LONG. I've seen it go hours since it last checked my school email account. So you end up having to do 4 extra clicks to check a POP address if you want your latest mail.
too many people were dugg down in this thread (feel free to digg this post down though)EDIT actually nevermind, most of the dugg down posts weren't actually relevant anyways.
The steps to upload email from your client software ARE explained in the post, I don't know how you could have missed it. Upload to IMAP is spelled out in the post itself, to a POP account by linking to an older post explaining the "Thunderbird process".Btw., this isn't really the key point, these options were available for quite a while - however the dates got messed up. The new solution is uploading to a temp account, then move it to the final account using Mail Fetcher, which fixes the date problem.
