rightwingwatch.org — Rep. Sally Kern's, famous for comparing gays and lesbians to terrorists, has proposed the "Proclamation for Morality" in which she blames the nation's current economic and other problems on gays, abortion, divorce, and all around lack of Christian faith. She also mentions Obama and blames him for promoting a gay agenda.

This is a counter-tactic to the gay community's recent criticisms. If the right doesn't remind Obama how might they hate gay people he might push for some gay rights.

"What about the lab coat - for a dress code,"Just gotta say that this is one of the funniest claims I've ever seen in the "science is a religion" argument. Come on, I disagree with pretty much everything you've said, but you seem intelligent enough to know how incredibly stupid that argument was. Same with saying that any respected scientist is equivalent to a holy man, though at least I've seen that one before. You know, sometimes people at my company put on face shields and worship at the altar of the chemical fume hood. And, I once knew someone who had to suit up to work in a nitrogen atmosphere -- she must be truly pious!

So, you're just substituting your prejudice for hers?

I understand that there are stupid people out there, but this stupid? God, can't you do something about this, like sending a STUPID FLOOD to wipe these people away?

If you are from Oklahoma and you disagree with this go to...<a class="user" href="http://repsallykern.com/html/contact.php">http://repsallykern.com/html/contact.php</a>Just copy and paste the below and email it to her. Its easy and fun to hassle state officials =)In your recent proclamation, you stated:"NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we the undersigned elected officials of the people of Oklahoma, religious leaders and citizens of the State of Oklahoma, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world, solemnly declare that the HOPE of the great State of Oklahoma and of these United States, rests upon the Principles of Religion and Morality as put forth in the HOLY BIBLE"I request that you remove the word "citizens" from the above quoted portion of the proclamation. You do not speak for all of Oklahoma, only a portion of Oklahoma, and you certainly do not speak for me. I find this insulting to have my self unwillingly associated with this "proclamation" and I am certain that many others do as well.

Go Dally Go. The more nutjobs like her tie their ludicrous associations of morality to ideas like this the sooner western civilization will realize how idiotic these people are. Go Sally Go

I agree that someone should not force their beliefs on someone else. The thing is some idiot above comments like everyone that is religious forces their beliefs on others. It's enormously stereotypical. It's like saying all black people will rob you blind. I attended a Catholic university for four years in which we studied among many, many other things world religions. No religion was any more wrong than the other. We also studied many areas of science starting with the fundamentals of scientific method. I could go on and on, but time and again there is always one or two outspoken idiots that make comments about something they have not put much thought into.Your entire foundation is misguided because you have made an assumption that religion is supposed to prove something. You could have sat down and read and studied, particularly since you claim to be so freakin' scientific, and soon learned that you have created in your mind a definition of religion based on a few experiences. That sort of approach will get you in major trouble in the scientific community. Religion is about faith; it is a practice based upon faith alone. It makes no attempt to prove anything. You have fallen into the same trap as the fundamentalists who take every written word as factual, literal meaning. Much of what you are confused about is documents that were written when man was much more primitive, and therefore used symbolisms and myths to convey their best understanding of what they thought, felt and experienced. So by your ignorant rants about something you do not understand, you have portrayed yourself as primitive as those who used to fear lightening was a punishment from some being in the sky.And again I say one could go on and on, but this is not the place for enlightenment. Nor does it appear that you are really concerned about learning. That would simply be too much for your simple minds. Most people would not have even wasted this much time on you. They may go so far as digg you down, but the majority simply do not read your nonsense or simply smirk and move on. But it can be rather fun to take a few moments to use you as an example and expose the irony of your prejudices.

I hate her. Her actions reflect horribly on the great number of non-fundamentalist Christians, non-Christians, agnostics, and atheist here in Oklahoma.

I agree, but not to get in an argument -- Star Wars is fake.

It's easy to over-generalize that we're all just a bunch of dumb hicks here. I'm familiar with, and grew up near the district where that idiot woman is a representative. It's an odd area of town that is full of ultra religious people. There are two christian universities within a mile or two of each other and an unbelievable amount of churches in that area. Remember, she is a STATE representative elected by a small district of a few square miles. We didn't send her to Washington. However, it's 20 minutes from the University of Oklahoma which has the highest per capita rate of national merit scholars in the nation and one of the top in the graduation of Rhodes Scholars. So we're not all a bunch of dumb hicks.I live in a suburb, near downtown. I'm pro-choice. I don't own a gun. I don't own a pickup truck. I don't have cows. I know a LOT of people just like me.

This is so embarrassing. Thanks, Sally Kern, for reinforcing the stereotype that Oklahoma is full of racist, homophobic idiots.
