Yep. Lots of others out there also developing enzymes to convert cellulose into sugars for ethanol and producing solid acidic catalysts to convert plant oils directly into biodiesel without all the batch-processing, lime usage, and waste water. This is one more great solution, but it's got "at least" one thing most others do not:It is bacteria-based - so they will be able to expand their stock not by producing and selling more product, as most have been concentrating on, but by LICENSING the use of the bacteria. I'm assuming they'll have a genetic marker field-test kit to prove whether anyone producing biomass-goo is using a strain of their patented bacteria.Anyone getting ahold of a batch can then scale-up MUCH more easily than other approaches, no product to ship, just send a starter-bucket and feed it. Like the biomass-to-ethanol developments, production of fuels could be done in smaller independent refineries, decentralized to cut down on transportation or using existing pipelines...nice. Unlike biomass-ethanol plants, however, this method of directly producing an oily goo that is basically a fresh hydrocarbon also allows all existing refineries to continue their normal operation for production of all those other higher-level petrochemical products as well. Apparently, you just pump in this hydrocarbon waste-goo and cook it into any cracked oil product we already have things set up for...nicer.Along with pebble-bed reactors and new developments for geothermal energy and thermal polymer reaction plants, we are quickly seeing that "peak-oil" hysteria will eventually be superseded by technology, as is usual with global crises.I have no problem, though, with going ahead and sucking all the oil out of the middle-east first before we allow our own strategic reserves to be tapped. Now we just need to find some way to induce a bit of global-warming so we can use all those millions of acres of frozen wasteland and develop all those frozen natural resources. It's really too bad the planet is completely dependent on solar activity and energy output for average temperatures and nothing man can do has any perceptible effect on the global climate. Oh well.
The environmentalists will oppose this because they will say that it will create more green house gases and will contribute to the Global Warming Hoax.We have more oil in the ground in the USA than we could ever use but Congress has capped all the wells and forced us to import foreign oil.Arco discovered huge oil reserves in Alaska when they were building the Alaskan pipeline.Back in 1976, Arco Oil discovered the largest oil reserves in the world at Gull Island but the US Government ordered the well capped. Arco also discovered huge natural gas fields that have been ordered by the US Government to be pumped back into the ground. Our own Government has stopped production on the Alaskan North slope and has created this so called Energy Crisis.Have you not wondered why Arco was never allowed to build the natural gas pipeline that was originally proposed to be built after the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline was finished in 1976?According to Lindsey Williams and Dr Stanley Monteith an Atlantic Richfield executive told him; “In my estimation, from the seismographic work and the drillings we have already done, I am convinced that there is as much oil under the North Slope of Alaska as there is in all of Saudi Arabia." (Lindsey Williams, The Energy Non-Crisis, Worth Publishing Co, 1980, up. 179)The following is a comparison between the three oil fields on the North Slope of Alaska which have been drilled into with numerous wells, tested, and proven. Prudhoe Bay can produce two (2) million barrels of oil every 24 hours for 20 to 40 years at artesian pressure. Imagine what the production of the Kuparuk and Gull Island fields could be.Alaska North Slope Oil FieldsPay Zone Oil(Average depth of oil pool)Area of FieldPrudhoe600 Ft. of pay zone 100 square milesKuparuk 300 Ft. of pay zoneTwice the size of PrudhoeGull Island 1,200 Ft. of pay zoneAt least four times the size of Prudhoe . . . Estimates are that it is the richest oil field on the face of the earth Yet it is all off limits for production because of our own Congress. In addition, read what Dr.Jerome R. Corsi or Craig R. Smith have been saying over at Worldnetdaily and read their book;"Black Gold Stranglehold: The Myth of Scarcity and the Politics of Oil" This has to be the biggest cover-up in history yet no one in the broadcast media has exposed the energy crisis as a manufactured crisis. We keep hearing it is all our fault for having the gaul to drive cars and use oil to heat our homes. We are being told that only way out of this mess is alternative energy like ethanol or hydrogen. Mean while the Government politicians blame big oil but it is in fact the Congress that is responsible for locking us out of the vast oil reserves in Alaska. We are told it would hurt the environment to drill for more oil while oil prices climb and we send troops to the middle east when we have more than enough oil to meet our needs in Alaska and other fields in the good old USAWhat a bunch of propaganda.Do people that are old enough to remember have selective Amnesia about the Alaskan Pipeline and all the additional pipelines that were proposed to tap the natural gas reserves that are being pumped back into the ground as I write this missive?Guess who stopped it all; it was not the evil oil companies but our own Congress. One has to ask why they have allowed the original (Standard) oil companies that were broken up back when Rockefeller lost the anti-trust case have been allowed to be merged back to 4 majors in violation of the original court order. Anti Trust court orders do not expire yet the 22 companies have all merged back into the 4 major oil companies we have today. That is what needs investigating and allowing the Government to investigate itself is a complete joke. The Congress allowed these mergers to take place and even had endorsed them.I have another question. Why is Jay Rockefeller allowed to vote in the senate on legislation that would benefit his families oil trust...the 4 majors now consolidated from the original breakup of his Standard oil monopoly? This is what is the biggest cover up of all. When Rockefeller lost his case in federal court he said "I will bury you for destroying my company (Standard Oil) and I will own you all".Strange how everyone seems to have forgotten what happened back during the Robber Baron days at the turn of the century and history is repeating itself.Read about how the US Government has capped the oil wells in Alaska preventing us from being totally oil independent from our current so called energy crisis:http://www.reformation.org/energy-non-crisis.htmlIf Congress opened up the North Slope, Oil would be so plentiful that it would drop in price back to around 8 to 10 dollars a barrel instead of the insane prices we are paying today.
I think a refinery in Colorado would be a good, environmentally safe and economical way to dispose of several million acres of standing dead pine and aspen trees thanks to the mismanagement practices of our servants in government.

This should be all over the front pages, but you can bet it won't even get mentioned in the MSM today.
