I would love to stop giving my money to those Middle-Eastern oil barons. They're building tons of stupid crap like "Dubailand" and "The World". Terrible taste.

The idea that someone could predict the world supply of untapped oil so precisely is laughable on its face.

its a good thing farming fertilizers and pesticides, the cornerstone of today's robotic farm, don't rely on pertroleum. Oh wait, my bad, they do... :~(

>> Today, we are discovering more oil than ever imaginedfalse, i don't care what book you have read, the statistics of new discoveries don't support this claim. the last big discoveries were the alaska slope and the north seas, both of which are producing less oil every day (they have already peaked)i am floored by the mixture of stupidity and arrogance here.also laughing at all of the people who mention the tar sands, like you read the article in wired and just figured that was it.i am not an environmentalist. i am not opposed to oil use. i don't even have a strong opinion on alternative energy. what i do know is little, from reading a few books by people who know pretty much all there is to know on the subject, and what little i know is 100x the competence level of posters here.
