First of all, you have a terrible sense of humor.Second of all, unless they use the GNU tools then he has no reason to do this.

I guess I want to say, how would this be any different than say, Ubuntu? If all you do is web browsing, then any OS will work just fine already. I guess, the only problem with Ubuntu at this time is that there is still a startup lag. So, if Google Chrome OS can accomplish a couple of things:1. Very short startup time2. Highly increased power management (not wasting a lot of battery power on useless OS memory management and/or monitoringThen yea, this could actually be a very successful OS especially for netbooks.

I'm a complete Google fanboi but I doubt I'll end up using this. I have Linux Mint installed but only because I want to learn it for the sake of helping me find a job. I can imagine a Google OS hiding most of the stuff which keeps people off Linux (which the others should have done a long time ago).

After reading the article, I can't help but think, trying to do something this different/improved is ONLY possible with open-source. Give it some time to mature and it has the potential to change the landscape.

It will be a piece of s**t with cloud computing, if I recall correctly. If you do not know about cloud computing, look it up. But it is all just speculation until google releases it. Definitely something I want to try, not something I want to own or have.
