techcrunch.com — New York based SonicMountain, a new startup, has acquired Evan Williams? Odeo. The price is not being disclosed but is in excess of $1 million, and the deal was all cash. Twitter is NOT part of the deal, it was spun off into a separate company earlier this month.

I got out bid :( Personally I didn't think their asking price was all that reasonable or the extras they requested. But, who am I to judge?

This situation seems remarkably similar to what happened with Blogger. Blogger was a side project of Pyra Labs in the same way Twitter was a side project of Odeo. Pyra eventually folded without ever producing a product, so you have to wonder about Odeo. That price seems awfully low to me.
