elderscrolls.com — 'We hope to have The Orrery available for purchase next week. This plugin will cost 150pts on Xbox, and $1.89 on the PC.' Also, 'We are working on a patch/update for both the PC and Xbox 360. It is our plan to first release it as a beta patch for the PC when it has cleared our initial testing cycles internally.'

Hopefully that patch will smooth out the frame rates and such.

Sorry but I have already PAID for the game - I expect to get all the game content for this price, along with a patch that makes it work properly on my system (which we haven't even seen yet - seems they were too busy designing the horse armour :S).Well at least if market economics works properly in this kind of situation, the game developer that sells you a game and gives you an assurance that all patches and content post initial production will sell millions of copies, while people like Bethesda who come up with this c*r*a*p go to the wall... they certainly deserve to for this little ploy. My game (which arrived today) is going back to my supplier sealed, I'm getting a refund, and Bethesda are going to get a strongly worded email from this particular gamer :(

Just because you can't afford a PC game, much less a console, is no reason to get pissy.

The patch will be free anyways, maybe you should try clicking on the link and reading sometime. Only the additional content plugins will be sold, and I really don't see what's wrong or so new about that. Isn't that the same thing as Valve did with half-life, with their episode system? Just like an expansion, but to a much lesser degree in price and content.I have to agree with a previous post though, the wizard's tower sounds awesome, and the orrery doesn't sound too bad either. It's not just models of weapons or horses, it's actual quests and extensions of Cyrodil.

"The Horse Armor Pack has been very popular, and exceeded what we thought it would sell."In response to Catfishjones....in Spin Alley, this translates roughly to:"The Horse Armor Pack got us a few sales and TONS of PR (even though a lot of it was negative) which made it very popular in our marketing department. It exceeded what we thought it would sell (zero)."The big question is...how many people who didn't know about the armor (because they bought the game and never checked for updates) found out about it and purchased it because of all the press this has been getting?

I agree playing a game like that is just crazy....but I logged 45 hours in just 3 days...I can't quite playing this damn game. I'm hooked worse than I was on ff7. I'm going to need an oblivion therapist by the time I beat this...

FOR PEOPLE HAVING FRAME RATE ISSUES ON PC:http://www.tweakguides.com has an Oblivion tweaking guide that is incredibly helpful. It takes you through all the in-game options as well as the .ini, and the various effects you can have with them on framerates. I also got very good results using the information found here - http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=25&t=299166&st=0 - he's got downloadable .ini files available, I wouldn't recommend just replacing yours but feel free to cut and paste.Between the two, my GeForce 6600 is running it with very good detail at 50 or more FPS indoors and 30 or more FPS outdoors. 2Ghz machine, 1GB RAM. Not bad results, IMO. It's a very demanding game - Bethesda's patch may help, but won't work miracles. The game is very tweakable - get tweaking! :-D
