bloomberg.com — At first it was just an unverifiable assertion. Now it turns out to have been a case of bureaucratic ineptitude and possible fraud. Transparency and accountability aren’t working out the way President Barack Obama had hoped.

Sadly, that is very true.

You can criticize Obama's contribution to the deficit AFTER you talk about the fact that Bush passed a $1 Trillion war, $2.4 Trillion in tax cuts (most of it targeted at the wealthy, where it does not statistically contribute much to the greater economy) and an $800 Billion bail-out. That's $4.2 Trillion, and it doesn't even include his inefficient Medicare part D program. Obama's programs - an $800 Billion stimulus ($288 Billion of which is tax cuts) and an $800 Billion healthcare bill (that will curb growth in healthcare costs and save us money in the long run) - cost a mere 38% of what Bush spent. So quit whining.

Just because you don't like the truth does not make the truth an opinion. I look forward to reading more comments like yours where people call this article false but never back it up with a single fact.

Your memory seems faulty. Up until Katrina, there was very little criticism of Bush in the media.Funny how wingnuts didn't complain about the "left-wing media" back then!

doybro: Most normal people with sense would realize they must be doing something wrong if they come to the conclusion to which you arrived, but hey, you keep being you.

Oh no, the Obama administration making up statistics to prove their point? Love the people who blame Bush. Hello, Obama has been in office for 10 months with his party in control of both Houses of Congress. And we can list all his accomplishments....crickets. Has not closed Gitmo, is bringing terrorists to the United States (a technical violation of federal law, the reason, I believe, that Eric Holder is assigned responsibility for the decision), cap and trade based on falsified data from CRU, communists and fellow travelers in the White House, unvetted czars for everything, dictation of pay scales to private businesses, double-speak that makes "Ignorance is Strength" look like truth, a decision on Afghanistan happening soon (perhaps as a Ramadan present to the troops?). Yep, this incompetent state Senator really has a gift for leadership. He can't even get the Secret Service to perform their prime responsibility. What is the over-under on the administration demanding someone's head over this incident? But he is a really likable guy. I prefer Patton's formulation of leadership: "A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week."
