huffingtonpost.com — WASHINGTON: Using better-than-expected jobs numbers to press his top domestic priority, President Barack Obama is arguing that overhauling the health care system is essential to the countrys economic well-being. Republicans said the high unemployment rate; 9.4 percent in July; shows it ain't their problem...Outlandish Rumors? lol...lies for mobs

I'm not too worried about that.

We're talking about the principle of socialized health care, and you bring the objection:"Legislation has not been passed and does not mandate that the government cover every person."Which, again, is off topic because I'm talking what is wrong with the PRINCIPLE of a national government run health care program that ensures every one is covered using the tax dollars of the relatively wealthy (which the legislation indeed does)You try to change the subject with an irrelevant comment about who the legislation would cover, which doesn't address my pint.

Not like the government run health care does in Canada and the UK.In the UK, until a recent court decision, if you were going blind they wouldn't give you treatment as long as your OTHER eye was okay. And the treatment that they denied was standard in the US.In Canada, for example, the way they "deny treatment" is to just put you on a long waiting list.Go look at Ontario's web site:http://www.health.gov.on.ca/transformation/wait_ti ...Wait 100 days for an MRI. Hey, if we're lucky you'll die on the list and save us some money!

I'll quote again, "For profit spurs competition which leads to quality improving and costs being reduced."This is setting up a false dichotomy, period. That is what I have argued. I'm not saying competition provides no benefits, of course it does. But we're addressing a very specific situation here, no? One that has shown again and again that competition does nothing to control costs. The existence of regulation does not mean competition does not exist, does it? Setting this up as a dichotomy is dishonest at best. I've backed that up with a paper that speaks, again, directly to the issue at hand. You can claim that administrative overhead is not the only factor here, obviously. But it's a major factor that, *sigh* again, speaks to the issue at hand and directly refutes "competition" as being the driving force behind improvements in care and efficiency. In the end, i'm not quite sure what use it is attempting to debate this with the digg/lib(ertarian) population. Mostly to provide some semblance of a rational opposing view to the shouting masses. A group that refuses to accept anything, no matter how solidly based in reality, however, is simply not worth it. There is no concept of acknowledging others points, just that anything ever spoke by someone with opposing views is solidly wrong. In the end, it's a waste of time. So f**k it, I'll continue donating as much as I can to the right causes and put my effort toward real change, not attempting to converse and debate above the shouting minority.

Okay huff and puff, did you see the same show America did?? LOL, Obam didn't "slam" anyone. If anything he got slammed by a Nation who sees thru him. Please, an 11 year old plant. He's getting desperate. It was staged like everything else coming from him. Without a telepromter with a thousand writers vetting it before he reads, he can't do a damn thing. He is nothing but empty words that are gonna cost us Trillions of dollars we don't have.

"Using better-than-expected jobs numbers to press his top domestic priority" The point I want to make has probably been made a hundred times above, but I will do it again. These manipulators would have you think that the economy is making progress. What do you suppose they mean by "better-than-expected jobs numbers"? They would hope that you would believe that more people are being hired; that the economy was on the upswing. The truth is that hundreds of thousands of people have actually LOST their jobs. How can that be?? Well, if you expected 500,000 people to lose their jobs, yet it turned out that "only" 400,000 people lost their jobs, a manipulative media could say that things were "better than expected"! That is exactly what the media is doing. And guess who controls the media? Take all "good" news you read with a grain of salt.
